Orientation and Welcome Party on October 6th, 2023

On October 6th, 25 new interenational students attended an orientation for new international students at the meeting room in the Agriculture Main Building where things like important procedures and support system at Kyoto University were discussed. In the evening, we hosted a welcome party for the first time in 4 years at the North Campus Co-op Hall. 63 participants including international students and their tutors enjoyed food and drink, and getting to know each other.

Orientation on April 5, 2023

On April 5, 20 interenational students participated in “Meet & Greet” and an orientation for new international students at the meeting room in the Agriculture Main Building. During “Meet & Greet”, the participants got to know each other and competed in a team-building quiz about Japan, and they were introduced to important procedures and the support system at Kyoto University during the orientation.

We had not had in-person orientations and welcome parties in 3 years out of concerns of Covid-19, but since the travel restrictions have been relaxed and new international students have been able to travel to Japan, we held an in-person orientation at the meeting room in the Agriculture Main Building on October 5.

We decided to cancel the orientation and the welcome party in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Instead of holding an in-person orientaion, we uploaded the orientation materials online for new students to see and download.

On October 8, we welcomed 50 new international students and researchers. The orienation was held at the meeting room in the Agriculture Main Building, and the welcome party was held at the Co-op.

Guidance and welcome party for the new international students were held on April 8 as scheduled. We have thirty nine new international students this April. Many people came to welcome them at the party.

The orientation for 6 new international studnets was held in the Internatinal Exchange Section on Fri, Oct 5. Information was offered on Japanese language classes and lectures by visiting professors as well as the events run by the International Exchange Section Office. A representative from the Coop also gave them helpful practical information for their daily lives.

The guidance for 45 new international studnets was held in the Internatinal Exchange Section on April 10. After words the welcome party was held at north campus coop cafeteria Hokuto. There were 81 people including faculty, staff and older internationl students came to the party to welcome the new comers.

Information was offered on Japanese language classes and lectures by visiting professors as well as the Kyoto University housing guarantor system and the events run by the International Exchange Section Office. A representative from the Coop also gave them helpful practical information for their daily lives.

The orientation for 35 new international studnets was held in the Internatinal Exchange Section on April 8 and the welcome party was held at north campus coop cafeteria Hokuto on April 11. There were more than ninety people including faculty, staff and older internationl students came to the party to welcome the new comers. We would like to thank everybody who attended.

Information was offered on Japanese language classes and lectures by visiting professors as well as the Kyoto University housing guarantor system and the events run by the International Exchange Section Office of the School of Agriculture. Dear New foreign comers

The Supporters’ Association for International Academic Exchange of Faculty of Agriculture will hold

1) a meeting named ‘Orientation and Acquaintance to the Faculty’ in order to explain about educational requirements of your course work in the faculty (credit and thesis etc.) and make you familiar with the facilities and/or utilities of the Faculty and
2) a Welcome party for the new foreign comers.

Please come and participate in the above formal meeting at International Office in Agriculture (look at the location map) at exactly 16:00 on April 8th Tue.).
